Cartel Affiliation: Arellano-Felix organization
Elfrian Perez was aprehended and on October 19, 2009. Perez pleaded guilty to the charges of conducting the affairs of an emterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity and conspiring to invest illicit drug profits. As parrt of his pleas agreement, Perez has agree to relinquish $1 million and will be reccomended to receive 30 years in prison. Perez's sentencing is on February 8, 2010.
Perez confessed that during the time beginning in the 1990s to June 2004, he along side of Ismael Higuera-Guerrero, were responsible for organising the receipt of large drug shipments in Mexico and supervising the drugs importation into the United States via Tijuana, coordination of the distribution of drug shipments once smuggled into the United States, collecting drug profits, and policing Tijuana for rivals, suspected informants, and uncooperative government personnel. Perez also admitted that memebrs of the cartel killed numerous people in order to succeed within the organization.
Elfrain Perez Pazuenga had a $2 million reward for information leading to his arrest.
