Jaime González Durán was a principal leader of the Zetas in Reynosa, Mexico until his arrest in November 2008 by Mexican Federal Agents. A vast arsenal of firearms and ammunition were confiscated with his arrest. On November 25, 2006 a famous Mexican singer was gunned down with several others in his vehicle after they left a concert in Reynosa, Tamaulipas which is a border town in Mexico near McCallen, Texas. Valentin Elizalde was from Sinaloa, Mexico and often sang songs about drug trafficking. The Sinaloa Cartel are rivals of the gulf cartel and Valentin Elizalde was warned about singing in territority that is considered to be the home state of the Gulf Cartel. Jaime Gonzalez-Duran is believed to have been responsible for the murder of Valentin Elizalde.
