Hector Huerta-Rios AKA "La Burra" was arrested in the area of Monterrey, Mexico by the Mexican Military. "La Burra" means "Female Donkey" in Spanish. He was taken into custody along with 4 presumed bodyguards while at his luxury car dealership in the city of San Pedro Garza Garcia in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Hector Huerta-Rios had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest for the killing of a police chief.
Hector Huerta Rios is believed to be a high ranking member of the Beltran-Leyva drug cartel from Sinaloa, Mexico. He was responsible for the cartel's operations in and around Monterrey which is the third largest city in Mexico and a major transhipment point for drugs which are shipped to the USA. This area has seen a rise in killings mainly due to friction between the cartels from Sinaloa and the Gulf Cartel.
Along with his arrest, 4 men who were believed to be his bodyguards were taken into custody, pending possible charges. These men were Jorge Barrera Lozano, Gilberto Trevino Herrera, Manuel Ruperto Martinez and Jose Donato Moreno Bustos. Mexican authorities seized numerous guns, 10 grenades, 18 luxury cars, 8,000 Mexican Pesos and almost $13,000 in US Dollars during this arrest.
