Border Patrol agents seized 114.08 kilos of cocaine at a checkpoint Laredo Texas

On May 16, 2009, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Freer Border Patrol station seized 114.08 kilos of cocaine.  The case unfolded when agents working at the checkpoint on Highway 59 conducted an immigration inspection on the driver of a tractor-trailer.  During the inspection a Border Patrol canine team alerted agents toward the trailer, indicating the presence of hidden contraband or people.  Agents searched the trailer and found two boxes that were not the manifest list.  The boxes contained 100 bundles of cocaine with a total eight of 114.08 kilograms.
