Cocaine Found Hidden in 2000 Chevy Malibu

On Tuesday, April 15, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred a beige 2000 Chevrolet Malibu for further inspection at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge.

Upon further examination of the vehicle, officers located five hidden packages of what appeared to be cocaine. The packages weighed a total of 12 pounds, with an estimated street value of $384,000.

The driver, a 22-year-old male Mexican citizen, was taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations. His narcotics and vehicle were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.
