Over 28 Pounds of Cocaine Seized at Border CrossingPosted on March 1, 2014
On Saturday, March 1, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers stopped out with a suspicious vehicle at the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville Texas.
Upon further examination, the 2012 Honda Civic EX was found to contain 12 concealed packages of cocaine, weighing a total of 28.7 pounds. The estimated street value of this find is about $918.400.
The vehicle's driver, a 23-year-old female citizen of Matamoros, Tamaulipos, Mexico, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigators for additional investigations. Both her vehicle and the narcotics were seized.
