$6.7M Worth of Cocaine Seized at CheckpointPosted on January 24, 2014
U.S. Border Patrol agents near San Clemente detained a man driving a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. Agents stated they became suspicious of the 54 year old after he claim to be a citizen of the United States. However, a record check reviled he was lying.
Agents searched the vehicle and found 53 individual wrapped packages of cocaine in the trunk and backseat. Border Patrol reports that the cocaine weighed 670 pounds with a street value of $6.7 million dollars.
The case was handed over to the DEA to be investigated further.
