Cocaine Seized from Minivan at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International BridgePosted on April 12, 2014
On Saturday, April 12, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers with the Office of Field Operations came across a white 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.
The driver, a 39-year-old male Mexican citizen, was referred for further inspection after presenting his Mexican border-crossing card. His mini-van was subsequently found to contain 33 concealed packages of cocaine.
This find weighed in at 83.95 pounds with an estimated street value of $2,686,000.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized both the cocaine and the minivan. The driver was arrested an turned over to Homeland Security Investigations agents.
