During outbound operations at the Ambassador Bridge on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on the Anti-Terrorism Contraband Enforcement Team came across a vehicle with temporary Ohio tags. The vehicle occupants, two male U.S. citizens, advised they were not carrying any weapons or currency over $10,000.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a package of cocaine layered in masking tape within the engine compartment. This find weighed in at 124.66 grams.
Both men were taken into custody and handed over to Homeland Security Investigations. The cocaine was seized and the men now face state drug charges in Michigan.
