On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, a 19-year-old citizen of the Bahamas attempted to board a flight to Orlando, Florida, with 4 bundles of cocaine concealed inside a black plastic bag within his luggage. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Bahamas-Nassau Preclearance facility discovered the narcotics following a secondary baggage exam as the traveler was applying for admission to the United States.
The bundles weighed in at a total of one pound, with an estimated street value of approximately $16,000. The Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Drug Enforcement Unit promptly took the traveler into custody. His cocaine was seized as evidence.
