Seventeen Kilos of Cocaine and Cash seized in Aurora, ILPosted on March 11, 2014
Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez announced the results of a three month investigation that concluded with a search warrant at a home in Aurora, Illinois on March 11, 2014. Sheriff Perez informed the public that 43 year old Jesus Montes was arrested after authorities found at least 17 kilograms of cocaine and $259,965 in cash at Montes' home. Montes' wife and one year old child were inside the home when the search warrant was executed and the drugs were found.
Montes was charged with drug trafficking and money laundering. In addition to the criminal charges, Montes is believed to be from Mexico and is in the country illegally. ICE was notified for future deportation proceedings. The seized cocaine which was wrapped in black tape, has an estimated wholesale value of over $500,000.
