Eduardo Nemesio Padilla Aguila arrested with $50,495 at Mexico City AirportPosted on April 8, 2008
Eduardo Nemesio Padilla Aguila was placed under arrest April 8, 2008, at the International Airport of Mexico City, by Customs, Federal Police and SIEDO (A organization of the government specializing in organized crime) when he intended to board flight 381 of Mexicana, bound for Panama. During a search the federal officials found hidden among his luggage, a box of Marlboro cigarettes which contained 10 packs of cigarettes with 20 wrappings that appeared to be cigarettes. Upon inspecting packs they found hidden between the filter and the tip 2 hundred dollar bills on all of them, for a total of 40,000 US Dollars found. Also inside the luggage that Padilla Aguila carried they found a total of 10,495 US Dollars. The total of money confiscated elevates to 50,495 American dollars that he had failed to declare before the customs authority.
As a result a federal Judge sentenced to hold him to a term of 90 days. The Judge determined the precautionary measure for Padilla Aguila, for organized crime operations and resources derived from illicit sources.
