$1.4 Million Worth of Narcotics Seized in San Clemente, CAPosted on April 10, 2014
On Thursday, April 10, 2014, U.S. Border Patrol agents referred a red 1999 Ford F-250 for further inspection at the Interstate 5 checkpoint.
After a canine sniff yielded a positive alert, agents performed a thorough search of the truck. They subsequently uncovered 116.95 pounds of bundled narcotics concealed inside a large metal security door that was being transported in the bed of the truck.
In all, the agents located 41 bundles of methamphetamine, 16 bundles of cocaine, and 6 bundles of heroin. The estimated street value for this find is $1,385,320.
The driver, a 34-year-old male U.S. Citizen, was taken into custody. He was handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with his vehicle and narcotics.
