Illinois State Police find 14,000 pounds of marijuana in Will CountyPosted on March 12, 2001
On March 12, 2001 the Illinois State Police announced a massive marijuana seizure of approximately 14,000 pounds from a parked semi-trailer. The Narcotics and Currency Interdiction Team (NARCINT) found the marijuana with the assistance of a drug K9 dog from the Romeoville Police Department. The marijuana was being shipped on ten pallets which were located behind two pallets of jalapenos.
The semi-trailer was parked in the area of Interstate 55 and Route 53 in Will County, IL. No arrests have been made and nobody was inside the truck when it was found.
