Trooper finds 130 lbs of marijuana during a truck vehicle inspectionPosted on April 24, 2007
At approximately 11:30 a.m., April 24, 2007, a Missouri State Highway Patrol commercial vehicle officer stopped an eastbound, 1991 Ford box truck, near the 189-mile marker in Phelps County, in order to conduct a vehicle inspection. During the inspection the driver, identified as David G. Grochocki, 26, of Redford Township, MI, made inconsistent statements to the officer. The inspecting officer also determined that Grochocki had committed a logbook violation. A trooper responded to assist the commercial vehicle officer and obtained consent to search Grochocki's vehicle. The search revealed approximately 130 pounds of marijuana in the truck's cargo area.
Grochocki was arrested and incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail for second degree drug trafficking.
