Troopers seize 971 lbs of marijuanaPosted on August 24, 2007
On Friday, August 24, 2007, an eastbound 2001 Freightliner tractor-trailer was stopped by troopers and commercial motor vehicle officers for a moving violation on Interstate 44, at the 78 mile-marker, in Greene County. Due to suspicious circumstances, consent to search was asked for and received. During the search approximately 971 pounds of marijuana was located inside the cargo area within four wooden crates.
The driver, Victor Ordonez, of El Paso, TX, was arrested for trafficking in drugs-first degree, and was released to authorities.
