133 pounds of marijuana seized from SUV on Interstate 10

On March 12, 2009, an Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer stopped a black 1995 SUV for a windshield violation on Interstate 10, near Benson. As the officer walked up to the vehicle, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. His DPS canine, Becky, assisted him with the stop. A search of the vehicle revealed 133 pounds of marijuana. Venissa Encinas, age 36, of Willcox, and Lucedas Biez, age 32, of Mexico, an undocumented immigrant, were arrested and booked in the Sierra Vista Jail for possession and transportation for marijuana.
