Border Patrol Officers seize 4,907.6 pounds of MarijuanaPosted on March 4, 2009
On March 4, 2009 Border Patrol agents made an immigration inspection on a driver of a tractor-trailer that pulled into the check point on Highway 16 south of Hebbronville. While performing an inspection of the vehicle a Border Patrol canine alerted to a large storage tank that was on the trailers flat bed. When agents opened the tank they found 234 bundles of marijuana. The bundles were wrapped in a cellophane-wrap and the total weight of the drugs was 4,907.6 pounds. The vehicle, driver and drugs were turned over to the DEA.
