ICE agents along with UDEST seize 1,200 Pounds of Marijuana.Posted on February 9, 2009
On February 9, 2009 ICE agents along with the help of Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team (UDEST) intercepted a U-Haul truck with 1,200 pounds of marijuana. The drugs were broken down into 92 bundles of different sizes and weight amounts. By using an undercover agent they were able to make contact by phone with the people expecting to receive the load of marijuana. The undercover agent took the load to a Denny's parking lot as advised where two Hispanic males made contact with him and took the truck. Agents then followed the load to a house in 519 NW 117th Court in Marion County where SWAT team and K-9 were deployed to secure the residence. The suspects in the home attempted to flee on foot but three of the four where immediately caught and investigation to arrest the fourth suspect have been set. A Florida Highway Patrol officer stopped the car where the other suspects where on I-75 and arrested them. The arrested individuals were Orlando Avalos, Jorge Luis Salmon, Daniel Jauregui, Jeremiah Hardesty and Darrell Davis.
