Illinois Trooper seizes over 600 pounds of marijuana on I-70Posted on August 29, 2011
On August 29, 2011 an Illinois State Police Trooper Beau Marlow conducted a traffic stop of a Ford pickup truck for minor driving infractions on Interstate 70 near Troy, IL. The trooper noted that the driver, 41 year old Tomlin Coleman of Lehigh Acres, Florida was acting suspicious. An Illinois State Police drug K9 dog arrived to assist and subsequently alerted to the odor of illegal drugs coming from the pickup truck. The trooper searched the truck and located 12 black duffle bags which contained a total of 633 pounds of marijuana.
Coleman was arrested for marijuana trafficking and charged federally. The estimated value of the seized marijuana is over $650,000.
