Handgun and Marijuana Hidden in a Radio Receiver

Mobile x-ray technology used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, revealed abnormalities in the radio receiver of a stereo bound for Trinidad. Once disassembled, the receiver was found to contain a Springfield Armory XC semi-automatic 40 caliber handgun along with 10 bags of marijuana. The estimated street value of the marijuana, which weighed just over a pound, is less than $1,000.
