Marijuana Discovered in Mom’s SUVPosted on June 23, 2014
On Monday, June 23, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer for further inspection at the Port of Douglas in Douglas, Arizona. The vehicle was driven by a 30-year-old Mexican female traveling with her 3-year-old daughter.
Officers noted the Blazer’s fuel tank had been tampered with and began a thorough search. Ultimately, 260 packages of marijuana were found to be concealed in various areas of the vehicle. The street value of this find is estimated at $155,000.
The female driver was taken into custody and handed over to Homeland Security Investigations while her 3-year-old daughter was returned to the father. The marijuana and vehicle were seized.
