On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility referred a white 2000 International tractor for further inspection.
The tractor was pulling a flatbed trailer carrying a hydraulic press. When examined using an imaging system, the structure of the press appeared to contain abnormalities. With the assistance of specialized equipment, officers proceeded to extract 7,198 pounds of marijuana from the machinery.
The estimated street value of this find is approximately $7.2 million.
The marijuana, tractor, flatbed, and press were all seized.
