Marijuana Smuggler Arrested at Detroit Windsor Tunnel

On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Detroit Windsor Tunnel referred a taxi cab for further inspection.
The cab’s sole passenger advised he was headed to his sister’s house, but refused to provide any further information. Officers conducted a pocket search of the man and observed what appeared to be plastic bag jutting out from the small of his back. The bag was then removed and found to contain just over a half-pound of marijuana.

The passenger was arrested and his marijuana was seized. Homeland Security Investigations will be pursuing state drug charges against the man.
