Southern Nevada SCORE Team Raids Four Marijuana Grow HousesPosted on January 28, 2014
In less than one week one, the Southern Nevada SCORE Team executed search warrants at four different residences that were being used as Marijuana Grow Houses. Two subjects, Joseph Ramirez and Rudy Rivera, from California were arrested. More than two thousand marijuana plants, over sixty pounds of processed marijuana, a firearm, and even a pet alligator were found as a result of the operations by the SCORE Team.
The first search warrant was executed on January 23, 2014 at a home located in the 10,000 block of Tawny Buck Court. This search warrant resulted in the seizure of 468 marijuana plants, 56 pounds of processed marijuana, and the arrest of 34 yea old Rudy Rivera.
The second and third search warrants were executed nearly simultaneously at approximately 8:30 a.m. on January 24, 2014. The first residence was located in the 8,000 block of Wards Ferry Street. Law enforcement officials seized 425 marijuana plants, 1.5 pounds of processed marijuana, and found a five foot long alligator. At the second residence located in the 3,700 block Lily Have Avenue, officials seized 758 marijuana plants and over 4 pounds of processed marijuana.
The fourth and final search warrant was executed on January 28, 2014 at a residence located on Mossy Bark Court. This residence had 613 marijuana plants and one firearm. Joseph Ramirez was arrested at this location.
All of the residences were rental properties and were connected to Rivera and Ramirez. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Clark County Detention Center. Rivera was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana, and trafficking marijuana. Ramirez was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, trafficking marijuana, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, and possession with intenet to sell marijuana.
Authorities estimate the value of the seized marijauna to be nearly six million dollars.
