Over 2 pounds of Meth seized from 2 vehicles traveling togetherPosted on January 3, 2010
A couple of officers stopped two vehicles traveling in pairs on Interstate 40. Upon searching the vehicles, the officers found 2.25 pounds of crystal methamphetamine in the spare tire of one of the vehicles. Frank Fernando Canez of Phoenix was the driver of first vehicle, a 2009 Toyota. Rafael Cardenas-Uriarte was the driver of the second vehicle, 2001 Cadillac. There was a one year old child and a female passenger in the second vehicle. Both Fernando Canez and Cardenas-Uriarte were charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and transportation of dangerous drugs for sale conspiracy. Rafael Cardenas-Uriarte was also charged with child abuse. Both vehicles were seized.
