Record Meth Seizure in Nevada - 208 Pounds SeizedPosted on July 14, 2011
The Southern Nevada Drug Task Force has announced a record seizure of 208 pounds of meth and 11 arrests. In addition, over four pounds of heroin, nine vehicles, six firearms, and approximately $280,00 in cash was seized. On July 12, 2011 inestigators with the Southern Nevada HIDTA Drug Task Force obtained five state search warrants and execuated the warrants in Henderson, North-East Las Vegas and South-East Las Vegas.
The names of the alleged ringleader of the organization was Oscar Cavadas (aka Moreliano Zaragonza-Ramos), 26 years old. The other suspects are 26 year old Jorge Loza, 27 year old Mayra Torres, 27 yea old Salvador Garibo, 27 year old Felix Roman, 31 year old Alejandro Gomez, 37 yea old Armando Lara, 37 year old Sergio Vieyra-Medrano, and 55 year old Cecilia Salgado.
The investigation resulted in the seizures of drugs, money, and weapons as well as the arrest of eleven subjects. Ten out of the eleven arrested subjects were illegal aliens from Mexico. All of the suspects fac charges under Nevada Law and the prosecution will be handled by the Clark County District Attorney's Office.
