Gang Members arrested with Meth & Guns during "Operation Washout" in Las VegasPosted on March 7, 2013
On March 7, 2013 law enforcement officials from various jurisdiction in and around Las Vegas arrested 12 members of a violent gang. The investigation and subsequent arrests were part of what law enforcement called "Operation Washout". Undercover law enforcement officers purchased five pounds of methamphetamine from several of the gang members near the intersection of Charleston and Lamb Boulevards. Following this controlled purchase of meth, officers conducted five search warrants. These search warrants were executed in the 2200 block of Daley Street in North Las Vegas, the 4200 block of Middlesex Avenue, the 3300 block of South Arville Street, the 4700 block of Lucite Lane, and the 1500 block of South Christy Lane.
Officials announced the state arrests of 19 year old Jonathan Vega, 30 year old Claudia Madrid-Valdez, 22 year old Lleimmy Madrid-Valdez, 29 year old Roberto Nabarro (aka Jesus Delbalt-Garcia), 22 year old Jorge Alejandro Acosta, 26 year old Guadalupe Tamayo, 22 year old Jorge Alejandro Acosta, 24 year old Edgar Robles, and 19 year old Fabian Sarmiento. All subjects were from Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. Three more subjects were arrested on federal charges.
More than 21 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately one ounce of cocaine and a quarter pound of marijuana were seized during the operation. Numerous firearms were also seized, including three handguns and three rifles (two assault rifles).
