$1.1 Million in Methamphetamine and Marijuana Seized in TXPosted on April 29, 2014
On Tuesday, April 29, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge referred a 1995 Ford Econoline van for further inspection.
During a thorough examination, officers located 13 bundles of what appeared to be methamphetamine and 51 packages of what appeared to be marijuana concealed inside the van. The methamphetamine weighed in at 33 pounds and the marijuana weighed in at 158 pounds. In all, the estimated street value of this find is $1.1 million.
The driver, a 30-year-old male Mexican citizen, was handed over to Homeland Security Investigations. His vehicle and narcotics were seized.
