$2.4 Million in Methamphetamines Seized in TX

On Monday, May 19, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge at the Laredo Port of Entry in Texas referred a 2001 Ford Expedition SUV for further inspection.

Officers then located 24 packages of crystal methamphetamine in the vehicle’s interior. This find weighed a total of 76 pounds, with an estimated street value of $2,432,000.

The driver, a 62-year-old Mexican citizen, was arrested and handed over to Homeland Security Investigations. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized his narcotics.
