6.1 Pounds of Methamphetamine Seized in El Paso, TXPosted on March 26, 2014
On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Paso Del Norte crossing were conducting an enforcement operation when a canine alerted the presence of narcotics inside a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck waiting in line to enter the United States from Mexico.
The vehicle’s undercarriage was inspected and several bundles were observed attached to the truck. Further search uncovered 5 bundles containing methamphetamine concealed along the truck’s frame rails.
The find weighed in at 6.1 pounds, with an estimated street value of $195,200.
The driver, a 30-year-old male citizen of El Paso, Texas, was arrested and handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation. His narcotics and vehicle were seized.
