Almost $700K of Methamphetamine Seized in CA

On the morning of Thursday, July 3, 2014, U.S. Border Patrol agents along Interstate 15 in Temecula, California, stopped out with a 2003 Nissan Sentra.

A subsequent canine sniff yielded a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. Agents searched the Nissan and located 50 bundles of methamphetamine concealed beneath the carpet under the driver’s seat. This find weighed in at 68.34 pounds with an estimated street value of $683,400.

The driver, a 23-year-old male, was arrested and charged federally for drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He and his narcotics were then handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, while the U.S. Border Patrol seized his vehicle.
