Cocaine and Methamphetamine Seized during Traffic StopPosted on July 11, 2014
Around 1400 on Friday, July 11, 2014, U.S. Border Patrol agents along Interstate 15 in Fallbrook, California, conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Dodge Neon. A pursuant drug sniff conducted by a Border Patrol K-9 team yielded a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.
Upon a search of the Neon, agents located 5 bundles of cocaine and 5 bundles of methamphetamine concealed within the lining of the vehicle’s backseat. This find weighed in at 24.58 pounds, with an estimated street value of $285,340.
The driver, a 37-year-old male Mexican national, was taken into custody for drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He and his narcotics were then handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The Dodge Neon was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol.
