On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents in Palm Desert, California, stopped out with a maroon 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup along Interstate 10. A canine detection team alerted to the vehicle, which agents then transported to the Indio Station for further investigation.

A search of the Silverado led to the discovery of a false wall built behind the truck’s passenger seat. Hidden behind this wall, agents located 20 vacuum sealed packages of methamphetamine. The methamphetamine weighed a total of 26.1 pounds. The estimated street value of this find is $261,000.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, was handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the narcotics and vehicle.
