More than $466K Worth of Methamphetamine Seized in TX

On Sunday, May 25, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge in Texas encountered a Dodge Grand Caravan. The vehicle was referred for further inspection following a brief conversation with the 21-year-old driver, a male Mexican citizen.

Five packages of methamphetamine, weighing a total of 12.7 pounds, were subsequently found hidden the Caravan’s floorboard. The estimated street value of this find is $466,400.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized the narcotics and the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
