Narcotics Found in Truck's Quarter Panel at the Port of Nogales
Posted on August 6, 2014On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, U.S Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of Nogales in Arizona referred a Chevrolet truck for further inspection at the Dennis DeConcini crossing.
When a narcotics detection canine gave a positive alert for the present of narcotics along the truck’s rear quarter panel, officers located 24 packages of methamphetamine and 3 packages of cocaine. The methamphetamine weighed in at close to 39 pounds with an estimated street value of $116,000. The cocaine weighed in at close to 8 pounds with an estimated street value of $80,000.
The driver, a 38-year-old Mexican national, was taken into custody and handed over to Homeland Security Investigations. The Chevrolet, methamphetamine, and cocaine were all seized.
