Over 25 Pounds of Methamphetamine Seized in CAPosted on June 17, 2014
On the evening of Tuesday, June 17, 2014, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Andrade port of entry referred a 2001 Ford Escape for further inspection.
A pursuant canine sniff yielded a positive alert along the driver’s side rear door. Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle and uncovered 24 wrapped packages of methamphetamine concealed within both of the vehicle’s rear doors. The estimated street value of this find is $165,000.
The driver, a female Mexican citizen, was taken into custody and handed over to Homeland Security Investigations. She was later transported to the Imperial County Jail and placed on an immigration hold to have her removed from the U.S. upon the completion of her court proceedings. U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized her vehicle and narcotics.
