Arizona DPS seized 30 pounds of ecstasy and pill pressPosted on December 5, 2013
On Wednesday Dec. 4 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a DPS Highway Patrol officer stopped a vehicle on I-17 near Thomas Road, driven by a 20-year-old male, for an HOV lane violation. A search of the vehicle revealed a backpack with ecstasy pills along with some cocaine. Detectives later obtained two search warrants, one for the suspect’s home residence in Goodyear, the other for his apartment at Apache Road and Rural Road near the ASU campus. Detectives found 30 pounds of product used to manufacture ecstasy pills in the apartment along with thousands of ecstasy pills. The apartment was essentially a pill factory which included a “pill press” complete with a motor. The 20-year-old suspect is facing charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, transportation of a dangerous drug for sale, manufacture of a dangerous drug, conducting an illegal enterprise and conspiracy.
