U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers at the Philadelphia International Airport intercepted two parcels labeled as “topographical drawings.” The parcels were x-rayed and each found to contain four small boxes.

Upon further search, the individual boxes were each discovered to contain the schedule I narcotic khat, a green, leafy plant chewed for its stimulant effect. The boxes weighed in at 100 pounds, with an estimated street value of $30,000.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, officers also located 200 tablets each of the schedule III anabolic steroids Methyl-1-Testosterone and Oxymetholone. The tablets were located in parcels labeled as “cosmetics.” They were being shipped to Illinois.
