Miguel Angel Guzman Loera aka "El Mudo" sentenced to 13 years in prison

The Attorney General's office of Mexico sentenced to over 13 years
of prison Miguel Angel Guzmán Loera aka "El Mudo” (the Mute one),
the brother of the fugitive drug-trafficker Joaquín Loera aka "El
Chapo Guzmán".
The Federal Judge sentences him for the crime of operating with
resources of illicit origin in the modality and for possession of a
firearm that is for exclusive use of the Army and Air Force.  Imposing
on him for the first of the charges over nine years.  As for the
second charge a sentence of three years, 10 months, 15 days in
prison.
Guzmán Loera, detained June 15, 2005, was utilizing the national
financial system to open diverse bank accounts with different names
such as:  Pike Guadalupe Pérez Gray, Gabriel Bernal I Neuter,
Adalberto Garcia Vidana ó Miguel Angel Sánchez Ruiz, in which he
carried out diverse deposits.  In one of them, he deposited the
amount of $17,293,332 pesos, all of which was obtained to drug
trafficking.
